Update on NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2080 SUPER Launch Schedule

NVIDIA GeForce Super Graphics Card

Okay, so I have an update on the RTX SUPER series front. I had previously mentioned in my exclusive that NVIDIA's Super Summer announcement would tentatively happen on or after 6/21. The bad news is, it's not happening today, but the good news is, unlike before, I finally have confirmation of not only the announcement date but the tentative launch dates as well.

I know what you are thinking: but Usman, this is moving goal posts! Grab the pitchforks!; yeah yeah, I hear you, but NVIDIA does what NVIDIA does and I am just the messenger. [This is why you must be shot! 😛 - Copy Editor] This is why I put a disclaimer for the announcement date in the original piece since it was not 100% confirmed at that point in time, but still, fwiw, accept my humble apologies for not making that clearer.

NVIDIA RTX SUPER Series graphics cards launch date: July 9th

These are the planned dates so far. It is still possible that NVIDIA sees this and decided to move them around just to discredit the leak scene, but considering these dates have already been seeded to journalists, once the NDA lifts, they will be able to confirm that these were indeed the original dates they were told:

  • July 2: Planned announcement day for all graphics cards (RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER, RTX 2080 SUPER). AKA soft launch.
  • July 9: GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER and GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER arrive on shelves.
  • July 23: GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER planned to hit the shelves. [Tentative]

So there you have it, folks. Just two more weeks till you are able to buy the SUPER series graphics cards when they hit the shelves. July 9th is the most concrete date here since this is something that has been seeded to channel partners already and cannot be easily changed. The announcement date may be moved around a couple of days at will should NVIDIA want it to, but will have to be done before July 9.

July 23 is the planned launch date for the RTX 2080 SUPER, but keep in mind there is nothing stopping NVIDIA from delaying that since the announcement would already have happened by that point. They may decide to see AMD's response before making a move. Speaking of moves, as I mentioned earlier in my original piece, NVIDIA is not offering rebates for losses to AICs and they will be shedding their existing RTX stock at heavy discounts during this period - so if you want to grab a cheap RTX - now's the chance.
