Five new iPad models have been registered by Apple with the Eurasian Economic Commission, which implies that new products are on their way. The model identifiers listed in the database include A2068, A2197, A2198, A2228, and A2230 and are all said to be running iPadOS, which was showcased by the Cupertino giant during the WWDC 2019 keynote.

Apple Is yet to Launch iPad 7; New 10.5-Inch Non-Pro iPad Could Also Be Unveiled

Previous Eurasian Economic Commission listings have also heralded the arrival of new Apple products, which means we will most likely see new iPads soon. Since all the slates are running iPadOS, chances are that they will be released sometime in the fall alongside the final builds of the operating system. The listings do not mention any specifications, unfortunately. The new dedicated platform will have some exclusive features such as multitasking capabilities, new Apple Pencil functionalities, gestures for cut, copy, and paste, and external Mac display support with Sidecar.

Recently, it was reported that a new 10.2-inch iPad will enter mass production this month and it will be a successor to the 9.7-inch model. The new identifiers might be referring to the different models of this iPad, such as the Wi-Fi variant, the Wi-Fi + cellular version, and the different storage options. The same happened last year when Apple registered 5 iPads with the EEC and they were all different variants of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, a ‘new’ 10.5 non-Pro version of the iPad could also arrive, but sadly, the internal specs of this variant are unknown at this time.

Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said that Apple will begin the mass production of two new iPad Pro models in the fourth quarter of the year or the first quarter of the next year. The current generation iPad Pro models were launched in October last year, which makes an October release likely for the next generation models. So far, Apple has released the new iPad mini and 10.5-inch iPad Air this year, which means it’s time for the entry-level iPad and the ‘new’ iPad to get a release date very soon.
