The new entry in the Oddworld series, Oddworld: Soulstorm, will be released on consoles and PC in the future. Those getting the game on PC, however, will be able to do so only on the Epic Games Store.

In a recent statement posted online, series creator Lorne Lanning confirmed that Oddworld: Soulstorm PC is coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store. He cited financial assistance among the primary reasons behind the exclusivity deal, as the team required additional help to create the best game possible.

What I would like to do is provide you with the reasoning that went into bringing the PC version of Soulstorm to the Epic Games store as an exclusive because you deserve to know. We've been financing Soulstorm 100% ourselves. Soulstorm is our most ambitious game ever and we are committed to creating a great game that meets the highest level of quality. But to create the version of Soulstorm we want, and you deserve, we needed additional financial assistance.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is shaping up to be an incredible game. We had the chance to try the game out at this year's E3, and we have been so impressed by it that we gave it out Biggest Surprise award.

At the end of my hands-on session, I was extremely impressed with Oddworld: Soulstorm, and I am craving for more beyond the stage that has been shown so far. As a huge lover of the original, Flashback, Another World and similar games, Oddworld: Soulstorm feels like the true modern re-invention of the genre. We at Wccftech have been so impressed by the game that we gave it our Biggest Surprise of E3 2019 award.

Oddworld: Soulstorm launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2020.
