iPhone 11 Pro Benchmark Allegedly Shows Increased Multi-Core Performance & Other Details

Alleged iPhone 11 Pro benchmark shows same RAM as iPhone 11 but increased multi-core scores

Just like its previous keynotes, Apple didn’t dive into the key specifications of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. While it did state that the A13 Bionic was the fastest SoC running in a smartphone, it didn’t give exact numbers to back up that claim, but it doesn’t need to. According to an alleged iPhone 11 Pro benchmark, the device obtains impressive scores yet again, beating the competition, but there are some interesting bits here that we’d like to share with you.

iPhone 11 Pro Performance Results Also Reveal Apple’s More Expensive Handset Features the Same Amount of RAM as Cheaper iPhone 11

According to the latest iPhone 11 Pro benchmark results taken from Geekbench, the device features the Motherboard number D42AP, suggesting that the iPhone 11 Pro Max will most likely sport the part figure ‘D43’. While we’ll talk about the scores in just a minute, we’d like to address the RAM count of the iPhone 11 Pro. According to a previous alleged benchmark of the cheaper iPhone 11, the latter featured the same 4GB RAM as the more expensive iPhone 11 Pro, and we feel that the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s RAM count could remain the same.

However, what’s different between the two benchmarks are the multi-core results. In the iPhone 11 Pro benchmark, the single-core results show 5472 points, which are slightly higher than the 5415 points the alleged iPhone 11 results obtained. Fortunately, the iPhone 11 Pro manages to impress in the multi-core segment, garnering 13769 points. The aforementioned figure is significantly higher than the score of 11294 the iPhone 11 apparently accumulated, despite running the same 6-core processor at a base frequency of 2.66GHz.

Fortunately, the ‘lower than expected’ results of the previous iPhone 11 benchmark were explained by Geekbench developer John Poole, who concluded that some thermal throttling may have been involved that lead to these lower scores. With the latest iPhone 11 Pro benchmark, it appears that there’s no thermal limiting involved, indicating that the device benchmarked earlier may have been a pre-production unit.

After all, Apple has heavily marketed its A13 Bionic as being of the most energy-efficient chips it has ever made. According to the company, the 4-core GPU is up to 15 percent power efficient, with the two performance cores running in the SoC being up to 30 percent more efficient than the performance cores found in 2018’s A12 Bionic. Additionally, the low-power cores running in Apple’s latest silicon are 40 percent more power-efficient than last year’s A12 Bionic, which will also explain why all three models boast better than life than their predecessors.

Like always, we recommend treating this alleged iPhone 11 Pro benchmark with a pinch of salt and wait for future updates to confirm the authenticity of these results. For now, Apple’s A13 Bionic-fueled powerhouse has beaten the competition.
