OnePlus 7 Pro Discontinued by T-Mobile to Make Way for OnePlus 7T

With the OnePlus 7T officially unveiled, the ‘Pro’ variant of ‘T’ series is expected next month. Since the Chinese OEM releases two flagships every year, they aren’t all that different but with the OnePlus 7T, you get a cheaper device that also takes the best features from the company’s earlier launched flagship. Perhaps that’s why T-Mobile has the OnePlus 7 Pro discontinued already, according to a new report.

Lower Price, Triple Camera, Warp Charge 30T, 90Hz Refresh Rate Are All Reasons Lined up as to Why T-Mobile Would Have the OnePlus 7 Pro Discontinued

Apparently, T-Mobile is no longer carrying the OnePlus 7 Pro on its website, which means it might have gotten the boot. However, we cannot say with certainty why this has happened, as the OnePlus U.S. website is still selling the unlocked version of the flagship sporting a pop-up camera. If you have your eyes set on the OnePlus 7 Pro, you might want to be on the safe side and get it before the company takes it down.

However, you might also be wondering as to why you should buy the OnePlus 7 Pro when you can get the OnePlus 7T for $599, which is a $100 less than the introductory price of the base model of the OnePlus 7 Pro? Well, it depends on what you are after. If performance matters, the OnePlus 7T sounds like a better idea, as it has the Snapdragon 855 Plus under the hood, unlike the OnePlus 7 Pro which is powered by the Snapdragon 855. On the flip side, the allegedly discontinued OnePlus 7 Pro also comes in a 256GB variant, while the OnePlus 7T is only available in the 128GB configuration.

However, in other areas, the OnePlus 7 Pro actually edges out the 7T. For instance, it has a bigger 6.67-inch display, compared to the OnePlus 7T’s 6.55-inch screen. However, they both feature a 90Hz refresh rate. Another difference is that the OnePlus 7 Pro offers 3x optical zoom and 7T dials that down to 2x but offers macro shots if you’re into that sort of photography.

Of course, these changes are nothing groundbreaking but they are apparently enough to blur the differences between the two phones, which might be the reason why T-Mobile had the OnePlus 7 Pro discontinued. The latter’s real successor, the OnePlus 7T Pro is expected to be announced on October 10 in London but for $599 and nearly the same features, the OnePlus 7T will be the obvious choice for most and if should be available from T-Mobile starting October 18.
