After leaking consistently on the rumor mill for the past few months, Google's Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are now official. The devices are the last smartphones of the year to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor and they come at a time when it's rumored that the SoC's successor will launch a month earlier in November.

The smartphones have their unique feature sets and rely on Google's unique strengths to differentiate themselves from other flagships. So if you're interested in getting a Pixel 4 for yourself and are wondering what's inside the retail box, we've got just the post for you. Take a look below for more details.

Despite not being as popular as Apple's iPhone, Google's Pixel lineup has its merits. The smartphones have excellent camera performance despite being limited by sensors and ISP bandwidth. Google's managed to compete with devices that have more camera hardware solely through computational advantages, and the Pixels 4 take the lineup's camera performance a step further.

The smartphones are also the first of their kind to feature a radar chip to enable motion sensing. This chip is dubbed 'Soli' and it allows Pixel 4 users to control music playback, turn down alarm volume and unlock their devices quickly.

Moving back to the smartphones' retail box, Google hasn't been generous this year. After unboxing a Pixel 4, you'll come across the following items:

  • The Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL.
  • A Quick Start Guide.
  • USB-C cable.
  • A quick switch adapter
  • A 10W fast charger

Conspicuously missing from the box are wired earphones and a 3.5mm-to-USB C converter. This means that if you're looking to get a Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL for yourself and don't already own either of these accessories, then you'll have to fork out extra cash to enjoy music or calls without using the smartphones' built-in speaker.

Google is also offering store credit to Pixel 4 buyers, so you can use this to get yourself an accessory for free. The Pixels 4 are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855, have a brand new front sensor setup, a new telephoto camera at the back and come in a new color option too. Thoughts?
