New Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer Pits Heroes Against Villains

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is NOT the next Resident Evil game, the game is focused on more on multiplayer then a single player story so if you are going in thinking of this game as a sequel to the previous Resident Evil games you will be highly disappointed. But if you jump into this thinking of it as a zombie survival shoot 'em up like Left 4 Dead or Killing Floor you are in for a treat. The latest trailer shows us a new mode in the game called Heroes Mode which pits all your favorite protagonists against all your favorite (Or hated) villains.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a strictly multiplayer centric game, much like Pay Day the Heist or Left 4 Dead where playing against the against will do nothing but infuriate you to the breaking point, but throw in friends instead of bots and you can have hours of fun. Capcom has just revealed a new game mode called "Heroes Mode" where players can play as their favorite protagonist or antagonist, favorites include Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy and Carlos Oliverira. While Villains include Hunk, Ada Wong, Nicholai Ginovaef and Lone Wolf. While they could have added Chris Refield and Albert Wekser to the roster too the current roster seems to be very good.

The basic objective of the game mode is to eliminate all heroes / villains on either side, the first team to do so is the winner, each character has a special ability which makes them unique from the rest and makes them an asset to their team, Utilizing these strengths and weaknesses properly can lead to an indestructible team but if you just run around as a lone gun man and try to be the hero you might be the first to get taken out and cause defeat.

The game is releasing March 20th 2012 on the 360 and the PS3, sadly Capcom is also one of those developers who along with Ubisoft are slowly moving away from the PC and focusing more on console releases of their games.
