19 Minutes of Asura’s Wrath Gameplay Released

Asura's Wrath is an awesome game being made by Capcom, it takes the play style of Bayonetta which pits the protagonist against enormous monsters and with a series of quick time button pressing events thrown in too to make the takedown of the enemies even more interesting. While news on the game comes slowly Capcom has just released fresh gameplay footage of the PS3 version of the game and if these 19 minutes are of the start of the game then I can easily say the game will definitely be destined for greatness.

While the game has a similar plot story to God of War (A demigod gets betrayed by his fellow Gods and then said demigod goes on an all out rampage for revenge against those who wronged him) Asura has an aim to save his daughter from being killed by his former allies. Along the way Asura will fight foes of all shapes and sizes all in an effort to help get him closer to his daughter and save her. While the gameplay videos are in Japanese it looks like this could more or less be the beginning of the game or shortly after it, but I have to say that for a game to have such an amazing battle as its opening is truly remarkable.

The art style, graphics and over the top combat system similar to that of Bayonetta and Devil May Cry is really impressive and this game is definitely on my hot list for games to play in 2012, considering how 2012 is already a great year for hack and slash gamers with the release of Devil May Cry 4, Devil May Cry HD Collection, Ninja Gaiden 3 and my personal favorite Darksiders 2 this game will be a sweet addition to an already fantastic roster of games to play.

The game will be releasing on 21st February in North America for the PlayStation 3 and the XBOX 360 and 24th February for Europe but of course the Japanese version will be out much sooner on both platforms.
