Furqan Shahid

The Samsung Galaxy S20 is currently one of the highly sought after devices; boasting a powerful set of specifications, the phone is the clear indication of what the future of smartphones is going to be like and it is going to be one hell of a future.

The phone itself is amazing in almost every aspect; whether you are talking about the gorgeous design, top of the line build quality, industry-leading cameras, or the amazing 120Hz screen that has everyone talking, you truly are getting the full package.

However, right out of the box, much like many other devices available, the phone is not perfect from a software perspective. With a screen starting from 6.2" and going all the way up to 6.9" based on the model you get, the real estate is a lot, however, Samsung's software does not let you fit a lot of content on it by default.

Fit More on Your Screen by Increasing the DPI Value on Your Device

The good thing here is that you can always adjust the DPI settings of your device; a feature that only used to be available through root. Doing so will shrink a lot of the things including text, menu, and even the icons. However, you must know that if you choose a number that is not optimized for your device's screen, things might not look good or might stop functioning altogether.

Follow the simple tutorial below that will allow you to change the DPI effectively and choose a value that works best in our opinion.

  1. Head over to your phone's settings.
  2. Scroll down to About phone.
  3. Once there, start by tapping on Software information.
  4. Tap the Build number multiple times until you get a message telling you that you are a developer; alternatively, your phone might ask you to enter your pin. If it does, enter your pin.
  5. Go back to the main settings, scroll back and you will find Developer options once you scroll down.
  6. Scroll down until you come across an option called Minimum width.
  7. Simply choose that, and enter the value "500" and press Ok.

You can, of course, tinker with higher values should you choose to, but we would highly suggest that you use smaller increments to ensure nothing gets out of order or becomes unusable.

That's it, folks! Following this simple guide has allowed you to change the DPI on your Galaxy S20. You can now start enjoying the phone with more icons as well as content on it.
