Leading Graphic Card manufacture Sapphire has launched two new models of AMD's latest GCN Architecture based Graphic card, The Radeon HD7950. Sapphire has released two variants of the card, One sticks to the reference design and clocks while other is an overclocked model featuring a dual fan heatsink.
The Reference model uses a simple looking heatsink which has a single fan etched in the center of the cooler shroud (doesn't include any heatpipes). The Reference Sapphire Radeon HD7950 packs 1792 Stream Processors, 112 TMU's and 32 ROPS, Both cards feature a 3GB GDDR5 Memory which runs across a 384-bit wide memory interface. Being a stock model, the card sticks to the reference clock speeds of 800 MHz core with 1250 MHz (5.00 GHz GDDR5 effective) memory.
The Sapphire OC Edition 3GB is clocked at 900 MHz core and 1250 MHz (5.00 GHz GDDR5 effective) memory, Also features a better heatsink which uses dual fan design and a larger aluminum fin array block which transfers heat through multiple heatpipes. Both cards include 2 x Mini Display Ports, 1 x HDMI and a single DVI slot display outputs and are powered through two six pin connectors.
The Reference Radeon HD7950 variant from Sapphire would cost $449 while the OC Edition costs $20 more.
