Install Android 4.0.3 rooted on your Samsung Galaxy S II i9100

Ammar Malik

There's no telling when Samsung will release the ICS update for Galaxy S II but if you're the impatient lot, then follow the steps below to get Ice Cream Sandwich update on your Galaxy S II.

The ROM(rooted) is Android 4.0.3 with build I9100XXLPB. Compared to prior releases, this build offers improved performance, stability and battery life. Please note that this is NOT an official release and therefore should not be compared to any update that might come from Samsung directly in the near future.

You need a rooted phone for this to work.

Rooting voids your warranty. Not following the instructions carefully might result in a bricked phone. Proceed at your own risk!

  • Download the ROM package here
  • Copy it in your SD card
  • Boot into recovery (clockwork mod etc)
  • Perform data wipe/factory reset
  • Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and select the downloaded ROM
  • Reboot
