Assassins Creed III Release Date Confirmed

Assassin's Creed III was coming, it is not a surprise. But release date confirmation before a trailer was unforeseen. Today at Ubisoft's financial calls, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said, "Assassin’s Creed 3 is the true next generation of both the Assassin’s Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general." And then proceeded to announce the Assassin's Creed III's release date as October 30th, 2012. Although given Ubisoft's track record, it might take a few more months for the PC version of Assassin's Creed III to see the light of day.

October is not Assassin's Creed usual normal release frame, which normally is somewhere in the middle of November. This break from the usual release timing can be attributed to intimidating titles such as Call of Duty which also release in November every year.

CEO Yves Guillemot said that Assassin's Creed III has been in development since three years as an answer to those who criticized Ubisoft's decision to release another Assassin's Creed title every year. Also, while the release date is confirmed, Yves Guillemot did not show a trailer thus there is still no confirmation on who the new Assassin is or where the game will take place. So, any "news" on the internet up till now is just speculation and since Assassin's Creed: Revelations ended both Ezio Auditore's and Altair Ibn-e-La'Ahad's story arc, you won't be seeing the iconic characters in the next game. Speaking of Revelations, Guillemot expects Assassin's Creed III to outsell Revelations, which sold 7 million copies.

So what do you expect from the third main game? Where do you want the game to take place? Do you think Assassin's Creed III will be as filled with quality as Assassin's Creed II was? Drop a comment below!
