You already know Google released Android 11 to the general public a few days ago. The new and improved update to Android brings a plethora of new additions to the table that enhances utility and overall brings better management controls. Several new changes have also been made on the privacy end as well which is always a welcome addition. However, Android 11 did bring a revamped method to take and edit screenshots. How to Take Screenshots and Edit Them in Android 11's New Interface - Step by Step Instructions
Google has taken notes from Apple when it comes to taking screenshots. Before Android 11 was available on compatible Android devices, users would have to press and hold the power button and then tap on the screenshot button. While it wasn't that hard to perform, the real issue was the screenshot appearing in Notifications and from there you decide if you want to edit it. It was really inconvenient, in my opinion.
This has changed with Android 11 and if you're new and don't know how to operate it, we have prepared a small guide to make it easier for you to take and edit a screenshot on Android 11. Simply follow the series of instructions below and learn how to master it.
1. If you want to take a screenshot of the interface of any app, simply swipe up and hold. This is similar to how you will switch or close apps.
2. Once you do that and see the app cards in the middle, you will see two options below - Screenshot and Select. We are working with a screenshot right now, so we will just leave Select for a later time.
3. Tap on the Screenshot button to take it and as soon as you do so, you will see how the screenshot floats on the bottom left side of the display with two options associated with it - Share and Edit. We're working with the later.
4. Tapping on Edit will redirect you to the Edit page where you can crop it or doodle around if you wish in various colors.
5. Once you do the edits, simply tap on Done to save the screenshot and you're good to go.
That's how you take and edit a screenshot in Android 11. Simply remember this method because almost all of us use this feature a lot since it is pretty nifty.
