Factory Reset Your Phone Before Upgrading to the Galaxy S21 [How To]

The Galaxy S21 is getting closer to the official announcement that is going to take place on 14th January, and considering how most of us will be upgrading our devices, it means that we are going to either sell our older phones or giving them away to someone who needs a new phone. Whatever the case might be, the smarter thing would be to factory reset your phone, so you don't end up still having most of your stuff in your phone.

Now, I know that it might not matter to most people, but for many working professionals, or even students, personal files are something that you will have to be very protective of. That is why, for anyone who is planning on upgrading to the Galaxy S21, here is a tutorial that will teach you how to factory reset your device and remove all accounts in the process.

Now, the process of resetting all Android devices is more or the same, but since I am on a Galaxy S20+, I am going to use screenshots from my current device. But don't worry, if you have issues resetting your Android device, please tell us in the comments, and I'll help you with it.

Note: This method will erase your phone's storage, but data saved on your microSD card will remain intact.

• Step 1: Go to your device's Settings menu.

• Step 2: You will need to scroll down and tap on "General management
• Step 3: Once you are there, choose "Reset."
• Step 4: Now, you have to choose "Factory data reset."
• Step 5: You'll be brought to the menu above. Scroll down to the bottom and hit "Reset," and the process will start. Do keep in mind that your phone might ask you to input your Google or Samsung credentials to be sure that you are resetting the phone and not someone who should not have access to the phone.

Once you are done with this, the phone should start resetting, and it will take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, and your phone will boot back up like normal.
