One of the features that Windows 11 introduced was the default centered taskbar and Start button. If you don’t like the centered position and prefer the previous Windows version’s side taskbar, you can do the same in Windows 11 as well. This tutorial will show you how to move the taskbar and Start Menu to the left on Windows 11 computers.
Move Taskbar and Start Menu to The Left
Some of you may find it a little annoying to find a centered Start menu when you have used a side alignment for so long. If you are finding it hard to adjust, you don’t have to change your muscle memory. It is straightforward to change the alignment in just a few simple steps.
Step-1: Open Windows Settings. There are different ways you can access Settings.
- Right-click on the Start menu and select Settings.
- You can also click on the Start menu icon and click on the Settings cog.
- You can press the Win + I keys on your keyboard.
Step-2: Select Personalisation from the left pane.
Step-3: Scroll down and click on the Taskbar option.
Step-4: Now, select Taskbar behaviors.
Step-5: The option will expand as soon as you click on it. From the drop-down menu next to Taskbar alignment, select Left.
Step-6: Now, close Settings and the Start menu, and the taskbar icons will now be positioned on the left.
Windows 10 had the option that allowed us to move the taskbar to the left, right, or the top of the desktop screen. It seems that Windows 11 doesn’t have the option. Since this is still an early version of the OS, there is always a possibility that we may see this option in the future.
I hope this helps and if there are some other questions that you may have about this Windows, let us know in the comments.
