How to Disable the Tap to Click Feature on Windows 11 Laptops

The Touchpad on your laptop has the 'tap to click' option enabled by default. This means that you have to tap the Touchpad, and it will function the same as clicking the touchpad button. However, this feature can sometimes cause accidental clicks, and if you have faced this issue in the past, you know it can be very annoying. This tutorial will show you how to disable the tap to click feature on Windows 11 laptops.

The settings app is where all of your Touchpad-related issues will be resolved. Just follow the steps below:

Step-1: Click on the Windows icon on the taskbar and when the menu opens, select the Settings cog. (You can open the Settings app using the Win + I shortcut keys as well)

Step-2: When the settings app opens, click on the Bluetooth & devices option from the left pane.

Step-3: Scroll down in the right pane and select Touchpad.

Step-4: In the Gestures & interaction section, click on Taps to expand the option.

Step-5: Once the option expands, uncheck the 'Tap with a single finger to single-click', 'Tap with two fingers to right-click', and 'Tap twice and drag to multi-select' boxes. Unchecking these three options will solve the issue of accidental clicks by tapping.

Step-6: After you are satisfied with the changes, close the Settings app.

If you wish to enable the features again in the future, follow the steps above, and in Step-5, recheck the boxes.
