Create Your Personal Avatar Using the Official Facebook Messenger App for iPhone, iPad and Android
Meta lets you create your very-own personal avatars for use in Facebook, Messenger and Instagram. While the usage is limited to display pictures and stickers, but that is more than enough to invoke an element of fun among those who use the service. If you've decided that you definitely need an avatar of your own and happen to use Messenger a lot then here's what you need to do to get started.

Note: You will require the main Facebook app to be installed on your iPhone, iPad or Android device for it to work. Please download it from App Store or Google Play alongside Messenger.
Step 1. Launch the Facebook Messenger app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Step 2. Tap on your display image on the top left hand corner to bring up settings.
Step 3. Scroll down a little and tap on Avatar.
Step 4. Tap on Make your avatar.
Step 5. Start creating your avatar from here and take as much time as you need. You can personalize it any extreme you want.
Step 6. If you think you're done, just tap on Done at the top right hand corner.
Step 7. Tap on Finish or Keep Editing. If you're absolutely sure you're done, then tap on Finish.
Step 8. Tap on Next and then Facebook will ask you if you want to put it up as your temporary profile picture. If you want to show your creation to the world then tap on Try It or Skip if you don't want to.
Step 9. Facebook will give you more options how you want to use your avatar, so it's entirely up to you how you want to go about this.
If you think you want to make some edits to your avatar, you can do that as well. Simply open up Messenger again, go to Settings > Avatar. Here, tap on Edit your avatar and start editing to make necessary changes until you're done.
Again, avatars are a fun way to express yourself in different places. But, the one place they truly shine is when you're chatting away with someone on Instagram or Messenger. You can actually send away stickers of your avatars which makes the whole thing that much better.
