One of the best things about being on Android is that you can easily go ahead and customize the OS the way you like it. However, things stretch beyond just the ability to customize as there is a whole heap of stuff regarding Android but outside the OS as well. Now, one of the things that you must know about Android is that if you want to make some changes or install an OS, you might have to do it through ADB/fastboot; these tools are useful when you are flashing factory firmware and entering the recovery modes, as well. If you want to install ADB and fastboot on your computer, the process is simple.

Now, before we get started. You need to know that in the past, the process of installing ADB and fastboot was a lot more complicated as you would have to install a number of offerings without really knowing how to get started. Additionally, you could only install ADB in a single directory, which also meant that if you wanted to use ADB, you could only do that in that specific directory and nowhere else.

However, over the past couple of years, Android as a whole has become a lot better and along with it, the tools for it. The tutorial focuses on a system-wide ADB that hardly takes a few seconds to install and once it is installed, all you have to do is launch the command prompt anywhere on your computer and get started with using ADB.

So, without further ado, let's have a look at how to install ADB and fastboot on your computer.  The installer package also contains all the universal drivers that would be needed by your specific device so you do not have to worry about going through the installation of individual drivers.

Step 1: Head over here and download the installer.

Step 2: Extract the zip file.

Step 3: Run the file you get as administrator.

Step 4: A new screen will open, prompting you if you want to install various components. Just keep pressing Y and hitting the enter key until the process is complete.

Step 5: Once the installation is done, you will be good to go.
