OtherSide Entertainment announced that the studio is now working on a new project helmed by renowned game designer Warren Spector, known as the producer of games like Ultima Underworld and System Shock, not to mention the director of Deus Ex. This upcoming immersive simulation game will be based on a brand new intellectual property.

Warren Spector, Chief Creative Officer of OtherSide Entertainment, said:

It feels great to be working with a talented team on a new title and new IP. Fans of my work already know what to expect: an immersive world and engaging narrative that players will directly impact through their choices and playstyles. We are still in early development and are looking forward to sharing more information soon.

That's not the only news OtherSide Entertainment has shared. They're also appointing Jeff Goodsill as the new General Manager of the company after he had served as a strategic advisor for the past six months. Goodsill is an industry veteran who previously worked on franchises such as Age of Empires, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, Titan Quest, and NASCAR Racing.

Goodsill said:

I am honored to be working with the industry luminaries at OtherSide. Paul, Warren, and their teams have played pivotal roles in creating and advancing the immersive sim genre. I’m joining a passionate team working on exciting projects and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish.

Warren Spector stated:

As an advisor, Jeff has already made us a more effective development studio. As a full-time member of the team, he’ll be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal of becoming a top-tier developer of games that empower players to tell their own stories through play.

OtherSide CEO Paul Neurath added:

Jeff brings a wealth of proven experience managing high-performance development studios. We are thrilled to have him join our executive team.

As you might recall, OtherSide Entertainment only released the underwhelming Underworld Ascendant. They were also developing System Shock 3 before Tencent swooped in and seemingly acquired the development rights from the small studio. We haven't heard any further news about System Shock 3, sadly.

OtherSide is now recruiting for the Warren Spector project. Open positions include Audio Director, Gameplay Engineer, Gameplay Engineer II, Senior Gameplay Engineer, Producer, HR Generalist.
