Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is launch the YouTube app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Search and select the video with the audio that you want in the video.

Step 3: Once the video is loaded and playing, simply bring down the Notification Center by swiping down from the top portion of the screen on your iPhone.

Step 4: Swipe right in the Notification Center and you will be taken to the Camera app automatically.

Step 5: Now tap and hold the Photo button to record the video. Be sure to note that you should not shift to the Video option.

This is all that you have to do to record a video on your iPhone with YouTube playing in the background.  If you shift to the video option in the Camera app, the YouTube videos will stop playing. The workaround is a pretty neat way of recording a video with music at the same time. When you bring down the Notification Center and then go to the camera app, you are tricking YouTube that the app is still open. This does not stop the music from playing in the background while you record a video on your iPhone.
