Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Launch Next Week At Computex [RUMOR]

Keep in mind, all such rumors should be taken as a pinch of salt. Previously as we had reported, the GTX 660 graphics card would be based on 4 SMX clusters, have 768 CUDA cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory. Now the talk has been going around of the launch of the card itself. That too next week at the 2012 Computex in Taipei.

There is a possibility of the card being presented or showcased by vendors themselves from June 5th that is when the Computex event kicks off. None of the less, there have been rumors of the card being possibly having a delayed launch of at least 3 to 5 months due to production issues at the back end from TSMC.

The card is now being said to be based on the GK104 chip instead of the GK106 as we had quoted earlier.

The price will be set to around $300 and even above, that is more than it’s about-to-be outdated GTX 560Ti 448 (currently the most powerful variant of the GTX 560). Besides looking at the badly photoshopped image, sources inside the industry have confirmed of the 6 pin power connector’s placement to be there with the TDP rated at 150 Watts.

So in short, it seems like Nvidia’s planning to launch its GTX 660 next week with a ‘GTX 660Ti’ variant to be disclosed later on in the summers.
