AMD's board partners are preparing their next-generation TRX50 motherboards which will offer support for Threadripper 7000 CPUs.

AMD TRX50 Motherboards For Threadripper 7000 HEDT & Workstation CPUs Have Been Spotted

ASRock always has its full stack ready for mainstream and workstation platforms and this time, the company is preparing the TRX50 WS which will be utilizing AMD's TRX50 socket and WS chipset with support for the latest Threadripper 7000 "Storm Peak" CPUs. This motherboard has been listed by EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) and should be released in Q4 2023 which is around the time the lineup is expected to hit retail shelves.

It looks like this specific motherboard will be aiming at the workstation side of things as evident by its name. For its existing TRX40 lineup, ASRock offered the Taichi & Creator offerings which not just focused on offering workstation-class features but also got inspired by gaming aesthetics. It's been four years since the launch of the TRX40 series  But at the same time, ASRock was also offering the WRX80 series in the Creator family which was designed for "WX" PRO chips. This motherboard had 8-channel memory support and an abundance of PCIe lanes.

The same might be the case here with the AMD TRX50 motherboards keeping the lineup simple & more HEDT friendly while a WRX series lineup focuses on offering users with plentiful of features as demanded within the workstation segment. We know and have also confirmed very recently with a range of motherboard makers that there would be two platforms for the Threadripper 7000 CPUs.

One is going to feature 4-channel memory support and the other will carry 8-channel support. The WS platform is supposed to feature the LGA 6096 "SP5" socket with up to 8-channel memory & 128 PCIe Gen 5 lanes support while the HEDT platform is supposed to get the LGA 4844 "SP6" socket with 4-channel memory and 64 PCIe Gen 5 lanes support. Most motherboard makers also didn't offer the Workstation SKUs but focused on the HEDT "TRX" parts. That might be a similar case with the next-gen lineup.

The launch of the next-gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 "Storm Peak" CPUs is expected in late 2023 if everything goes smoothly. Expect more information in the coming months.
