Persona 4 Remake

A Persona 4 remake and a Persona 2 remaster are in the works at ATLUS, according to new rumors circulating online today.

A few hours ago, ATLUS leaker Midori revealed that remakes of the second and fourth entries in the series are in the works, without providing additional information. On the ResetERA forums, Head on the Block, who was previously known as I'm a Hero Too, provided additional information on these projects, saying that Persona 2 is not getting remade but remastered. This remaster will include both Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, with a new translation being the main selling point. This remaster will be released on every console, including the Nintendo Switch 2 and the next-generation Xbox.

As for when the Persona 4 remake and the Persona 2 remaster will release, the leaker did not provide a release window. The remaster of the second entry in the series is releasing either before Persona 6 or the year after. The remake of the fourth entry in the series, on the other hand, is years away.

Both the Persona 4 remake and Persona 2 remaster make quite a bit of sense as low-risk projects. With the series being more popular than ever thanks to the success of the fifth game, there's no doubt both would become more popular than their original releases. Despite both leakers having proved their reliability in the past, however, we have to take everything revealed today with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes in, which is likely going to take some time, considering Persona 3 Reload just launched and the studio is busy with both Persona 6 and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
