NVIDIA won't be releasing any new cards within their GeForce 700 series in 2013 after the launch of their GTX 760 GPU as indicated by a leaked slide. Next week, NVIDIA would introduce their GeForce GTX 760 GPU which would be the latest mid-range offering within the GeForce 700 series lineup but don't expect any new releases within 2013.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 - Last GeForce 700 Series Card for 2013?
NVIDIA GeForce 700 series currently consists of three cards, the GeForce GTX 780 is the flagship graphics card bearing the GK110 core followed by the GK104 based GeForce GTX 770 that's much faster than the AMD's HD 7970 GHz Edition GPU. Next week on Tuesday, NVIDIA would release the latest yet last GeForce 700 series card to complete their 2013 lineup. We also won't see any dual chip cards within the 700 series stack, the $1000 GTX Titan graphics card would be the flagship GPU in that tier while the entry level GeForce GTX 650/ 650 Ti/ 650 Ti Boost and GTX 660 won't see any new successors.
While this may sound disappointing to some, i think that this was a good decision by NVIDIA. Their current entry level stack fares well against the Radeon HD 7700 and 7800 series cards and there are already enough factory clocked variants out there for these cards that's there no need for new refreshes that only boast faster clock speeds such as the GTX 770 and GTX 760 themselves. It also makes sense since AMD won't be introducing any new cards in a while although the codenames for their upcoming Volcanic Islands series are already revealed within a leaked Catalyst driver and hint at names such as Hawaii (flagship GPU). The codenames have been hinted but the launch timeframe is yet to be known so NVIDIA would wait to see what the upcoming generation of AMD graphics have to offer in terms of performance and efficiency. If AMD's GPUs turn out to be well, then expect an immediate reply from NVIDIA otherwise we would endure the long wait like the Kepler entry level cards.
