The new stock camera app with improved user interface for Google Play Editions of HTC One and Galaxy S4 are pulled out, released and available for download! It took a little while for the camera apk from GPe phones to be made available but the good thing is, it seems to work on just any phone without root.
The Google Play Edition phone are available for HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 and very recently Nexus too. Each of them runs a completely stock version of Android without any HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz on any of the phones. Which has sort of made these editions the ultimate flagship phones for Android nerds. HTC One and Galaxy S4, both do not require any contract through a carrier or something and are sold as “unlocked”. Though, each of them will work on AT&T and T-Mobile LTE networks without any hassle.
You can download Google Play Edition stock camera app and install it on your phone with no issues at all. As reported, the app is working just fine and has been checked with all modes including Panorama, Sphere and more.
Cherry on top is that this camera also comes with the stock Android gallery. Simply download the apk from this download link, tap on it when the download is finished successfully and then install the file. It would show up in app drawer with a stock camera icon. For Nexus, it will more than likely replace your current camera app.
