ASUS has several models planned for launch tomorrow based on their latest DirectCU II design featuring an improved cooling and PCB design. A few of these models were already unveiled in pictures that were taken during an event held by AMD in Australia, you can see other Radeon R9 and Radeon R7 GPU lineups in the pictures too over here.
ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP
ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP is based on the Tahiti XT die, featuring 2048 cores, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The Radeon R9 280X would feature a 3 GB GDDR5 memory operating across a 384-bit wide memory interface. The card would be clocked at 970 MHz at base and 1070 MHz with GPU Boost while the memory would be clocked at 6.4 GHz effective clock speed.
The most notable feature of this model is the custom PCB and the DirectCU II cooler. The DirectCU II cooling design helps deliver superior cooling performance compared to reference designs with the help of ASUS's Cool Tech Fan technology and features a 10 Phase DIGI+ VRM with Super Alloy power delivering higher efficiency and stability to end users. The card features Dual-DVI, HDMI and display ports. Power is supplied through an 8+6 pin configuration.
