Microsoft Announces Halo: Spartan Assault For Xbox One And Xbox 360 – Releasing This Year

Halo: Spartan Assault is the first Halo game that was originally released on Windows 8 and Windows enabled phones and tablets in July 2013. Today Microsoft, owner of Halo franchise, has announced Halo: Spartan Assault for Xbox One and Xbox 360. The game will be released in December 2013 as a digital download on both consoles. The Price is not yet confirmed for the console version although the mobile version is selling around for $6.99.

The expanded console version of Halo: Spartan Assault will feature a new multiplayer mode, as well as the single player with 5 missions from Operation Hydra expansion DLC that was previously released with the original Windows version. Although multiplayer is not supported between Xbox One and Xbox 360, also Microsoft did not discussed anything on cross-platform play for Halo: Spartan Assault between console and PC. Microsoft was previously looking very excited about the cross-platform play and it looked like Microsoft will soon start supporting cross-platform with the next-gen games but nothing can be said.

Console version of Halo: Spartan Assault was already predicted by many people back in July when the original game was released for Windows based phones and tablets. Halo: Spartan Assault is a third person shooter video game developed by 343 Industries and Vanguard Games. The game takes place between the story of Halo 3 and Halo 4. Player will control the human soldiers Edward Davis and Sarah Palmer to fight against the alien covenant on covert Spartan ops. The Xbox One and Xbox 360 version of the game will contain 30 missions including achievements.

The next big Halo game for Xbox One, reportedly called Halo 5 is currently in development. The game will be released exclusively for Xbox One in 2014
