Apple has started taking pre-orders in the United States, Canada, and Europe regions. Pre-orders have started from the asia pacific region also. In the US Apple's online store has fixed a delivery date of 11/4. Apple has fixed the price of the 16 GB iPad air at $500 while third party vendors such as Walmart, Best buy and possibly Target will be selling the same iPad at $480.

Apple's Asia pacific stores will reportedly ship in 24 hours in Australia, China (only Wi-Fi models available), Japan, and Singapore, Hong kong is expecting the iPad Air to be launched in 1-2 weeks. All of Apple's stores around the globe are experiencing a high influx of orders, this is quite amazing since these are only for the iPad air while the iPad mini retina is also expected to join its big brother.

Some EU countries which see the launch of the iPad air include " Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia,Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK".

Teardown Reveals A7 Chip Among Other Gizmos

The teardown done by iFixit confirmed most of the specs of the iPad air. The A7 chip is almost identical to the one in the iPhone 5s with a little bump in clock speed. It is  coupled with the M7 co-processor to handle motion related tasks , 1 GB of ram is dedicated for the cpu's chores while 1 GB is dedicated for the LTE processor. The display is supposedly manufactured by LG. While the new 32.9 Whr battery is smaller than the one found on the iPad 4, Apple assures that it will give the same backup. Other gizmos include a Dual antenna, a slightly improved 5 MP camera and dual microphones.
iFixit gives the iPad air a lowly 2/10 score for repairability meaning that repairing this tablet is nearly impossible. I expect the iPad air to sell extremely well even better than the iPad 4, contributing to its success will be the new 64 bit A7 chip and the awesome display. Although other alternatives are available in the form of the $200 cheaper Nexus 7, Apple's tablet department is well established and is here to stay.
