Currently Full HD i.e 1920x1080 resolution is used in most Flagships smartphones excluding the Apple iPhone 5s. There is an ever increasing demand for higher resolution displays in mobiles, even mainstream monitors which are nearly 22" will be left behind. Generally most laptops have a screen resolution of 1366x768 which is piss poor when phones such as the Galaxy S4 and the Sony Xperia Z have screens of 1920x1080 pixels.

Samsung To Release Beyond Full HD Screens Next Year Maybe in Galaxy S5

According to some reports by the south Korean media, Samsung is hoping to push the bar higher with mass producing screens with resolution higher than the current Full HD. With the rumored launch date of the upcoming S5 pointed to January, we can expect the S5 to house the next generation screens. Also it has been almost confirmed that the S5 will utilize a 16mp sensor with integrated OIS. Only Sony and Samsung itself seem the probable manufacturers of the camera sensor.

Although we will most probably miss the fingerprint sensor in the S5, Samsung will treat us with 4GB Ram in its next flagship soon. With this 4 GB Ram a 64 bit octa/quad core processor will become compulsory.

There are phones such as the Vivo Xplay 3s housing screens with 538 pixels per inch, beating the 330 ppi retina standard by a lot. Other specs include latest snapdragon 800 2 GB Ram. We can now only assume Samsung will release the S5 with a screen worth of the Galaxy S series moniker.
