Older Phones To Get Third Party Android 4.4

With the release of the new Android 4.4, many users became angry over not getting the new official update. Only a few devices of known manufacturers like Sony, Samsung and Htc will be getting the official Android 4.4 update. Although the old Galaxy nexus was left out of the 4.4 group, third party Android development teams like Parandroid and Cyanogenmod etc have promised to release Android 4.4 for older phones.

Third Party Android Developers Promise Android 4.4 For Older Phones

The Android 4.4 was said to be fully compatible with devices having low Ram (512 MB). With this fact it becomes quite imperative for Google to release the update for older phones. Third party developers like the AOKP team, the CyanogenMod team, Omni Rom and the Paranoid Team. The unofficial Android 4.4 update is already available for the LG Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7. However the Paranoid team has said that in the future, it will not support non- Nexus devices.

Omni ROM announced that their Roms will be compatible with the Nexus series, LG Optimus G, Galaxy S2, and Sony Xperia T among other phones and tablets. The AOKP team did not specify phones which will be updated, although the update for the Nexus series can be taken for granted.

With the prime feature of the new Android 4.4 being the support of 512 MB Ram phones, it would had been good if the new Android revision was provided to older phones. While the Galaxy Nexus is around 2 years old, it has received a new lease of life via the 4.4 update. This will enable it to used for more time to come.
