Gigabyte is preparing their non-reference GeForce GTX 780 Ti GHz edition graphic card which sports their high-performance WindForce 3x cooler. The card will also be the first GeForce GTX 780 Ti to feature a custom PCB design while further models from NVIDIA's AIB partners are going to arrive early next year.

Gigabyte Strikes At AMD R9 290X With Their GeForce GTX 780 Ti GHz

For once, the war between the single GPU peformance throne seemed to have settled with GeForce GTX 780 Ti winning the title of the fastest graphic card in the world. It remains true since the reference card offers the most performance out of box than any other reference card but is priced a little higher than AMD's flagship Radeon R9 290X which makes it unattractive to some consumers. However it looks like the war has just begun and reference designs were just a glimpse of what's to come!

Board partners of NVIDIA and AMD are on a roll prepping up their non-reference lineup of cards for launch either this month or early next month. We have already seen some great designs such as EVGA's GTX 780 Ti Classified, MSI's Radeon R9 290X Lightning and Colorful's GTX 780 Kudan but Gigabyte went ahead and launched the first custom GTX 780 Ti graphic card.

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 Ti GHz features the GK110-425-B1 core which is for the first time based around a custom PCB equipped with a 10+2 Phase VRM. This means that the card won't only overclock like a beast thanks to the added power but also run at faster default frequencies with a factory overclock of 1085 MHz base and 1150 MHz boost while the 3 GB GDDR5 memory running across the 384-bit interface is clocked at 7 GHz stock speed. The extra performance translates into higher power requirements hence the card requires dual 8-Pin connectors to juice it up. Display outputs include Dual-Link DVI, HDMI and a display port which is the normal configuration found on NVIDIA and AMD GPUs nowdays.

Gigabyte equips their GeForce GTX 780 Ti GHz with the WindForce 3x cooler which has served well on several GeForce 600 and 700 series cards. It comes with a triple fan design shroud design which push air towards large central aluminum fin array heatsinks interconnected with 6 copper heatpipes dissipating heat from the base plate. The WindForce 3x has the is able to dissipate upto 450W of heat so don't worry about heat when doing some overclocking on this beast.

Price and launch dates weren't mentioned but the card is ready for retail shipping and should be available in market soon this month. Price should be expected around the £625. You can check out a full picture gallery of the card posted by Ocaholic in this link.
