Mad Catz took the time to present the Mojo Box back at E3 in June. Unlike the Ouya, the Gamepop, the GameStick, the Wikipad, the Nvidia Shield, and practically every other Android gaming device will have to fight with the simple pitch by Mad Catz. What they call Project Mojo is a tiny lightweight box that plays every single Android game and apps on your TV that you could get on a smartphone or tablet.

There’s no necessary controller, no subscription required and no proprietary store. This means the Google Play and Amazon Appstore are on board on the same place. As Mad Catz pitchman Alex Verrey said back at E3 “You buy the games from wherever you damn well please. We bring the hardware, you bring the software.”

Well the wait is no over! Mad Catz has officially joined the combat field of Android-based game consoles. The Mojo Box is now available and shipping at the price of $249.99. Right now the Mojo Box runs Android 4.2.2 Jellybean and can offer the same Android, apps, games and media you already have on your account right onto your TV. Mad Catz has been sure to remind us that Mojo doesn’t restrict the users in any way; like there’s no limited app store that you must acquire content from.

As for the device it’s powered by a Tegra 4 processor, offers 16GB of built-in storage (which can be expandable with microSD cards), it has 2GB of RAM, and has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. With the Bluetooth functionality important feature the use of Ctrlr Mobile Gamepad that accompanies the console. It has a low-power capability with the battery life and lag free gaming is almost exceptional. Also the Gamepad will let you replicate same movements you do with the mouse on your TV, and you could use any other Bluetooth-enabled Android smartphones or Windows PC. But if you want to stay classy you could use any keyboard and mouse with the USB ports available on the console.

You could get and read more information of the M.O.J.O. on it’s official website.
