Rumors around next year's flagships get momentum in the holiday season as tech companies start working on the design and production of upcoming smartphones. HTC seems to be the one to look forward to this year thanks to its improving smartphone performance every year. With successful HTC One M7, One M8 on board, we are now looking forward to the third of this series. However, it turns out that HTC will not be calling the upcoming flagship "One M9".
HTC Hima M9 details:
Codenamed as HTC Hima M9, the company is rumored to give a new name to its upcoming flagship. Earlier, it was leaked that HTC is going for larger 5.5-inch screen. However, today's rumor suggests that HTC will keep the 5-inch design. The latest report comes through trusted @upleaks who has shared that HTC Hima M9 will be a 5-inch 1080p smartphone and not a 5.5-inch 1440 x 2560 display phone. @upleaks has also shared other specifications of the phones which are:
- 5-inch Full HD 1080p display
- 64-bit Snapdragon 810 with four cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and another four clocked at 1.5 GHz
- 3 GB of RAM
- 20.7 MP rear shooter
- 4 ultrapixel OR 13-megapixel front shooter
- VoLTE
- 2,840 mAh battery
- Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense 7.0 atop
Earlier reports had suggested that HTC will go for Snapdragon 805 SoC. If HTC Hima M9 is planning to get Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 then it too would be in the list of devices with delayed launch date (read: Qualcomm Facing Some Serious Troubles with Snapdragon 810 Production – 2015 Flagships may See Delayed Release). While Samsung Galaxy S6 launches a little late in the year, HTC One M9 or HTC Hima M9 is expected to be released in March 2015. We suppose HTC would do with the 805 SoC anyway.
HTC will also launch an affordable version of the flagship in the shape of HTC Hima Ace with dual SIM support. Hima M9 will be carried by all major US carriers.
