Grand Theft Auto IV on PC was one of the worst optimized and counted in the most unstable of the games released in 2008. Of course the players commended the gameplay overall as it was a much more comprehensive addition to the series but on PC it could not have been worse relating to the gameplay. PC forums were filled with user warnings on not to buy the PC version as it required some very heavy equipment to handle the unstable game. A user commented on meta-critic that GTA IV needs a "lightening speed computer" to run, warning the PC owners not to buy it on PC. Others focused on the uninteresting and bland story of the game saying that Rockstar forgot to make the game fun to play.

The best part of running a game on PC instead of a console is the enormous amount of customization that you can come up with. Ranging from high powered processors to maxed-out graphic cards to medium specs and budget PCs, you can choose the experience you want at the desired price. However, after the fiasco of Grand Theft Auto IV, many wonder if its an unsafe bet to play the sequel to the series on a PC after the delay announcement:
“We’re glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTA V and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon. We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTA V to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible.”
A website 'Alt-Tab' reported that the PC version already runs at 60 FPS on the PC according to a Rockstar developer that worked on GTA V's online environment team. Unfortunately, as of now, we don't know which PCs can run GTA V at 60 FPS and whether the entire thing would be affordable or not.
A more comforting statistic revealed is that the team responsible for the PC version is the same one responsible for the PC version of 'Max Payne 3', which can be described as one of the best PC versions of a game created. So, as January draws near, the only question now is that what additions will the PC version feature and how stable will it be?
No official announcement from Rockstar has been made to confirm this rumor.
