FBI finally concluded its Sony hack investigation claiming to have enough information to prove that "the North Korean government is responsible for these actions." The entire episode has gone from being just another hacking attempt to a bilateral security issue between the two countries that aren't on quite friendly terms. Along with FBI, President Obama has also issued strong statement to oppose the hacking attempt by North Korean agency,

I'm sympathetic to the concerns that they faced. Having said all that, yes, I think they made a mistake...

....We cannot have a society in which some dictator some place can start imposing censorship here in the United States.

The statement by the President has of course infuriated Pyongyang who has claimed that these actions "fall outside the bounds of acceptable state behavior." Regardless of what Pyongyang or North Korea has to say, the government of United States is designing a complete cyber strategy after this crippling cyber attack on Sony Pictures to thwart any such future attacks on American organizations and threatening citizens to face consequences for watching some movie. The premier of The Interview has been cancelled which was set to show on the day of Christmas.

Post Sony hack, US asks China for help:

To help block these cyber attacks originating from North Korea, the United States has asked China (yep, you heard it right!) for help. While the US government may have partnered with China over cyber security in the past, there have been various cases of tension between the two countries. A senior US official told AFP, "We have discussed this issue with the Chinese to share information, express our concerns about this attack and to ask for their cooperation." China is, however, North Korea's closest ally and might help easing the tension between the two countries.

On Saturday, North Korea asked US for a joint investigation with the US after President Obama's statement. Pyongyang claimed to be capable of proving that this incident has "nothing to do with us" "without resorting to such tortures as were used by the US CIA." It is unlikely of US to accept the joint investigation proposal coming from Korea, let's see how Chinese authorities respond this cyber fiasco of the year.
