With the Samsung Galaxy S6 and to some extent the HTC One M9 dominating news these days, another Android flagship also due this year has been left out of the mix. Compared to the Samsung and HTC flagships expected at MWC, the LG G4 has seen relatively few leaks and rumors. Well, today's not that day it seems, as the an alleged LG insider has spoken up about the company's upcoming flagship device.
LG G4 Coming In April According To LG Insider Quoted By Korean Media
Looking at the hype surrounding HTC's and Samsung's flagships this year, LG's decided to stay low when it comes to the G4 it seems. A top company executive spoke to the media earlier and emphasized on the need of differentiation when it comes to smartphones in the Android world. And looks like LG's looking to build a completely new hype around its device as the LG G4 will be coming in April, and not at MWC this March.
Not that we were expecting the G4 to be unveiled at the MWC in March as a company executive elaborated that LG will be following its schedule with the G3 when it comes to the G4 as well. But judging by today's news, it'll be a month earlier this time around. According to Korea Times' source, the manufacturer is looking to make a bigger splash with the G4 and not peg the device down as any other Android flagship. LG's also looking to make the G4 stand out from Samsung, Apple and HTC launches, the source elaborates.
That doesn't by far mean that the company is shy of smartphone releases. The company already launched the curved LG G Flex 2 this January and the device boasts the specifications any Android device for 2015 can be expected to get, with a Snapdragon 810 coupled with 3 GB of RAM on board.
