Wolfenstein: The New Order is getting a new campaign with Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, as was previously announced by Bethesda. The standalone release won't be requiring the original Wolfenstein: The new Order and will be getting a retail release as well as a digital one. PC and Playstation 4 owners that is, which will be getting both a retail and digital release, while Xbox one owners will only be getting the game in digital form.

Digital copies will be available on May 5th on Xbox One and PC and on May 6th for the PS4. Physical editions will be released in May 15th for PS$ and PC. The retail and digital versions will launch at the same price, at least according to UK retailer GAME.co.UK, where the game is available for preorder at £14.99.

Regarding why The Old Blood will skip a release on PS3 and Xbox 360, when Wolfenstein: The Order launched on those platforms, Bethesda explained,
"To achieve our intended scope for the game, we decided to focus on current gen,"
