Neo smartpen N2 is finally launching today as announced by NeoLab Convergence in bid to fuse digital and paper writing. The South Korean company created the smartpen N2 after raising around $360,000 in Kickstarter this October. They have now started shipping to the US to complete their pre-orders.n2 smartpen

This new Neo smartpen N2  can store drawings as well as hand written notes, that too with a blink of an eye. This smartpen typically enables the smooth transition between paper to digital writing. Whenever you start writing, this N2 will activate instantly and automatically without a hitch. It identifies what letter you are typing and makes it appear on the Android or iOS screen you are using almost instantly.  The notes that your smartpen saves can be converted into various languages totaling up to fifteen different languages.

This N2 smartpen comes along with the pre-installed Neo Note app. This Neo Note app enables the users to share, organize and upload their personalized content to other third party apps including Dropbox, Evernote and a few others. This N2 smartpen also allows you to send the stored notes to your friends via email just by tapping a page in the notebook. Also, the pen automatically turns on or off by pressure recognition. This smartpen can also record and playback audio with the help of the pre-installed app called Neo Notes app.

“We are inspired by the stories of a wide range of users all over the world, from marketers to entrepreneurs to artists. We designed the N2 to bridge the gap between analog and digital in the era of the Internet of Things,” said Eddie Lee, cofounder and chief technology officer CTO at NeoLab Convergence. “We believe that the possibilities of a pen and paper are huge, and with the N2, the opportunities with pen and paper are unlimited.”

This new smartpen N2 comes in two distinct colors i.e. black and white. It costs $170 and it can be easily refilled with the D1 ink type which is readily available in stationery stores. 2,500 pens were sold in a Kickstarter campaign which made it through the top three technology products on Kickstarter. So it seems worthy to buy this tech as soon as it arrives in the market.
