Microsoft has been working in past to improved features UI for its services and desktop applications which also include Windows Live Messenger 2010.
Fortunately first build of Windows live 4 leaked today. Only few lucky beta testers will be able to enjoy this build. Windows live 4 shows interesting new features like different views in Messenger (social, expanded contacts and a more familiar view of the contact list) are up and running, though features such as Facebook Chat are not. Other things such as the not-saving-your-conversation-display-picture-sizes bug has been fixed, while other things still require a bit of work
