South Korean tech firm LG might have big plans for its G5 (iris scanner rumored) and while its G4 happens to be the simplest flagship device to repair, the company is intending on releasing a G4 Pro before focusing on its G5. The upcoming handset is expected to feature a metal chassis and is slated for an October 2015 release. In terms of hardware specifications, the smartphone blows G4 out of proportion in every manner possible. After all, the latest leak suggests that G4 Pro will be armed to the teeth with a Snapdragon 820 SoC (which to jog your memory, is currently being fabricated on Samsung’s 14 nm FinFET process), an astounding 27 MP rear camera and a whopping 4 GB of RAM.

G4 Pro Is Expected To Possess A 5.8 Inch Screen Size; Overtakes Its Predecessor By A Long Margin

LG has been rumored to be contemplating a second smartphone release, and now, Mobiltelefon reports that the G4 Pro is expected to be released during the month of October and will sport an aesthetically appealing metal chassis to complement its ‘eye protruding’ hardware specifications. As mentioned above, G4 Pro will sport a Snapdragon 820 SoC, which will be running Qualcomm’s custom cores known as Kryo.

Additionally, 4 GB of RAM will be present, which was expected, seeing as how G4 features 3 GB. While the memory type has not been stated, it can be assumed that the RAM count will satisfy DDR4 speeds. However, perhaps the biggest improvement jump happens to come from the handset’s 27 MP rear camera sensor, and that is a lot of megapixels to stuff in a smartphone camera sensor.

There is no information on the origin of the camera sensor, but it is possible that LG will be tapping Sony, being that the latter has the highest smartphone camera sensor market share. G4 Pro is expected to feature a 5.8 inch screen that will render a 1440p resolution and thanks to its large form factor, we can expect a beefy battery to be stuffed at the rear side of the handset.

So far, this is all the information that is available about the smartphone. If you guys are intending to wait for G4 Pro, then we strongly suggest that you muster up some patience and wait for the month of October to arrive.
