Phil Spencer Feels Good about Microsoft’s Presence at Gamescom; New Software Updates Address Party Apps and Parental Settings

Phil Spencer yesterday twitted that he will be visiting London to attend Minecon 2015, and then to ChinaJoy, followed by Gamescom in August. Spencer responds to a fan asking whether there will be big announcements at Gamescom, admitting that he feels great about their show for the huge upcoming event.

Phil Spencer, has previously reported that Xbox's presence at Gamescom will be as equally impressive as their E3 2015 showing, with as many surprises and content as in the latter. Crackdown, Scalebound and Quantum Break are already confirmed to be making an appearance at the August event in Cologne, Germany, as will surely plenty more.

During the first ever PC Gaming Show at E3 2015, which Xbox boss Phil Spencer, attended, Microsoft revealed that Gears of War Ultimate Collection and Killer Instinct are coming to Windows 10. PC gamers have been asking for more titles, including Forza and Rise of the Tomb Raider, and according to Microsoft’s Kudo Tsunoda, the company will announce more games coming to the PC in the coming months.

Kudo told MaximumPCMag when asked about Halo or Tomb Raider coming to the PC:

“You know we can’t have any announcements about that stuff today, but for sure there is going to be a lot more, you know, a lot more announcements coming as we roll towards Gamescom.”

Fable Legends, Killer Instinct and Gears of War Ultimate Edition have already been announced for the PC, with Fable Legends and Killer Instinct supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and PC.

Gamescom will be held between August 5-9 in Cologne, Germany. We will bring you any news from Microsoft and information related to Gamescom as soon as it becomes available.

Microsoft released two new system software updates for the Xbox One for preview members, fixing issues related to the party app and parental settings.

A fix for an issue with the Party App where not choosing “Leave party” to leave a party may result in not being able to join future parties.
KNOWN ISSUES

Xbox Fitness: When resuming from Instant-On mode and with Xbox Fitness suspended, you may encounter a frozen Kinect preview image, and Kinect interaction will not resume.Workaround: Hard reboot the console.

A fix for the Parental Restriction settings not displaying correctly. We are aware that not all languages are localized with these settings and a fix is in process.
