[Updated] Game Like a Boss – NVIDIA Bundles Metal Gear Solid V with GeForce GPUs

[Update] NVIDIA have officially announced that they will be offering the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with select Geforce GTX GPUs or Notebooks.

Metal Gear is one of the world’s oldest and most popular franchises with games released on more than a dozen platforms over the past three decades. In the closing days of 2014, PC gamers got their first taste of mainline Metal Gear since 2003’s Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Later this year, Metal Gear will be back on PC once again with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which as of now is bundled with select GeForce GTX 980 Ti, 980, 970 and 960 graphics cards and systems, and select GeForce GTX 980M and 970M notebooks.

NVIDIA is assisting Konami with the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and it appears that the game will be bundled with NVIDIA’s GeForce graphics cards.

Leaked by Reddit and subsequently confirmed by Newegg, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will replace Batman: Arkham Knight in NVIDIA's promotional deal.

Newegg’s support wrote:

“Hi everyone! We had a little slip up and posted this deal ahead of schedule. It is not currently available, but stay tuned, it will be soon! Newegg Support -Tori”

While Newegg support did not detail what GPU models will be featured in the bundle, it can be assumed that they will be similar to the Batman Arkham Knight deal, and that the game will be bundled with the GeForce GTX 970, GTX 980 and GTX 980Ti, and quite likely the Titan X.

The Japanese voice actor behind Solid Snake, Akio Otsuka, has reported that Kojima Productions was forced to disband, and that their efforts in creating their biggest masterpiece with Metal Gear Solid V is almost complete.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain went down a storm at E3 2015 receiving a plethora of nominations and awards, including IGN’s Game of the Show, Gamespot’s Best of E3, Polygon’s Editor’s Choice and many more. The full list of nomination and awards can be viewed here.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on September 1st for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and on PC on September 15. We will bring you any new information regarding Metal Gear Solid V, Konami and Hideo Kojima as soon as it becomes available.
