(Product) RED Apple Watch Band Leaks Ahead of the Apple Event

We had reported earlier that Apple is planning to introduce some new Apple Watch bands at its "Hey Siri" event today. As with every Apple event when we see some bits leaking before the event starts, one of these Apple Watch bands has also made it to the interwebs.

An image making an appearance on Twitter earlier today is showing an Apple Watch Sport band (RED). This is an added option as until now Apple has offered the Sport bands in white, black, green, blue, and pink. This image, which shows the packaging of the band complete with the distinctive (Product) RED branding, has been tweeted by a tech blogger Larry Greenbery. Leaked image also shows "Stainless Steel Pin" written on the packaging, possibly making it the first colored band to offer stainless steel pins. Apple has previously used stainless steel pins only for the Sport bands for the stainless steel Apple Watch. Regular Apple Watch Sport uses aluminum pins.

For those who don't know, Product (RED), styled as (PRODUCT)RED, is a licensed brand which aims to engage the private sector in raising funds and awareness to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in Africa. Apple appears to be including the red Sport band in its existing pool of red products that includes iPods, iPad cases, and headphones.

Apple is also expected to introduce a gold aluminium Apple Watch Sport band as well, however, no signs of it have appeared so far. MacRumors claims that red Sport band and other Apple Watch band colors have already started to arrive at Apple stores which means you might be able to get these later today.

Less than 3 hours, and Apple would be set to unveil more than just a few new Apple Watch bands. Expect to see iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, Apple TV 4, and various other products and services being unveiled at the Bill Graham Civic auditorium. Starting at 10:00 am PDT, you can follow Wccftech for coverage or watch the event live.
