Surprise, surprise. After failing the promise to roll out a promised Preview Build last Friday due to a very important issue in Windows 10 Mobile 10536, Microsoft is now in to gain some cookie points. Fast ring members of Windows Insider program can now update their devices to the very latest and quite "fixed" Windows 10 Mobile build 10536.
After more than a month of the release of previous build, Microsoft has finally released the new Preview for Windows 10 Mobile. If your device is running on 10512, you will have to perform two rounds of updates to complete the process to jump to 10536.1004. Microsoft says that it will "take a bit more time than usual but this has all the important fixes for build 10536 so you will want to make sure you take BOTH updates." However, if you are on Windows Phone 8.1, all you need to do is update directly to the latest build rolled out to the Fast Ring.

Following are the bugs that the current Preview fixes followed by the new features and enhancements introduced in the new build.
- Mobile Hotspot fixed
- Pinch and Zoom in Maps fixed (yayy!)
- Quite Hours / Do Not Disturb fixed
- Two-factor authentication is fixed
- Insider Hub is back.
- Updated Photos app now includes folder view, faster zooming and panning actions, and favorites.
- One-handed mode is now on for all devices, including the ones with smaller screens.
- Already announced on Windows Preview 10527 for PC, Windows Feedback app will now work on Mobile builds to submit feedback.
There are some known bugs in this build which means you might want to stay away from testing this build. If so, make sure you choose Slow Ring before the operating system checks for the new updates to install. Gabe Aul of Microsoft has shared the following bugs discovered in this build so far:
- After rebooting your phone, you won't see notifications, such as new messages, until you unlock your phone. After that, you should see notifications for new messages just fine. "zStorage" appears in the Settings app under System and clicking on it causes the Settings app to crash.
- Camera upload to OneDrive may not be enabled based on prior settings. To fix this, make sure you are running the latest version of OneDrive by opening the top left navigation bar, then settings on the right to verify that camera upload is turned on and you have the latest app (version 17.2).
- Insiders will not be able to move from Slow to Fast rings temporarily; we are working on a fix but in the interim to move a device from Slow to Fast you will need to use the Windows Phone Recovery Tool to first start on Windows Phone 8.1 and opt directly into the Fast ring.
- Additional languages for speech and keyboards won't be available until tomorrow (9/15) and will error if you try to download. If you already have languages for speech and keyboards downloaded to your phone prior to upgrading, they will remain and available to use.
