The Star Wars: Battlefront Beta that was announced last month will be open to all and will include offline and online modes including co-op and split-screen co-op. Although the open beta is scheduled for October, an actual date hasn't been revealed.

Star Wars Battlefront Beta scheduled for October, still no word on the date.

EA announced this on their official Battlefront blog through a community update. Community manager Matthew Everett wrote:

"For now, I can tell you this: the beta will consist of both our offline and online modes including co-op and split-screen co-op, and it will take place on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and via Origin for PC, so we have you covered regardless of your next generation platform of choice"

The final date when the beta kicks off will be announced when EA Dice has finalized all of the beta details. Everett continued:

I almost forgot upcoming items and news! As I mentioned a few weeks back, our team is working hard to continue to gather the proper details around features, modes, weapons, vehicles, and more. We know a lot of the community is eager to get every specific detail around the game, and our team is looking forward to revealing it.

Star Wars Battlefront is the third installment in the Battlefront series, but is not considered a sequel to Battlefront 2. EA Dice has presented the game as a reboot to the series. On Twitter EA clarified that they decided to re-boot the series so they can provide their vision on what an epic Star Wars Battlefront game can deliver.

Battlefront is scheduled for a release in the US on November 17th, 2015. Europe  and Australia will receive the game a few days later.
