According to a source, the model number of LG Nexus 5X is LG-H790, and this particular model will most likely be distributed across the United States. However, there was another model named LG-H791, but there were no details as to which region it will be sold in. Additional details from the source state that Nexus 5X is going to support the following bands.
- GSM 850/1900
- W-CDMA 2/4/5
- CDMA 0/1/10
- LTE Band 2/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/41
The H791 model will be using all of the aforementioned bands, except for band 12, 13, and 25. As for the remaining hardware specifications, Nexus 5X will be using a Snapdragon 808, along with 2GB of RAM. The most appalling thing about the upcoming device is that its predecessor, Nexus 6, came with 3GB of RAM, and here we have a smartphone that has not only been severely downgraded in the RAM department, but in the storage category too.
This is because LG and Google are expected to release Nexus 5X in only the 16 and 32GB storage variants, and seeing as how all previous models bearing the Nexus logo came without a removable card slot, we fear that this crucial feature will once again not be found in the upcoming handset. The battery is going to be non-removable and will have a charge capacity of 2,700mAh, which is also a downgrade if you compare Nexus 5X and Nexus 6 but keep in mind that the latter came with a 5.9 inch screen size and the former will have a 5.2 inch one.
One of the better things that Google has managed to do is incorporate a 1080p display, which can also be considered a downgrade in comparison to its predecessor, but it is a blessing for those consumers who require a lot of battery life from their mobile devices. The starting price of Nexus 5X is expected to start from $399, which is not so bad, considering the ludicrous starting price that was stamped onto its gargantuan sized cousin.
