Video Shows iPhone 6s And 6s Plus Outlasts An Hour Long Waterproof Test

Apple introduced the 7000 series aluminium on its iPhone 6s and 6s Plus which is tempered for extra strength compared to the anodized 6000 series aluminium found on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The change in aluminium grade was due to the 'bendgate' subject for Apple's previous generation iPhones. The iPhone 6s has been made stronger by every mean judging by the drop and bend tests. However, it still needed to be seen if the new iPhone 6s duo have been enhanced for water resistance.

The water resistance qualities of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have been tested in a new YouTube video. The video tends to notify if the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been improved in terms of water resistance. The test was more than an hour long, with both iPhones completely submerged under water. Tests were conducted after intervals to see if the smartphones have irregularities in their behavior.

With that being said, let's see how these two new iPhones stack up against their predecessors.

The iPhone 6s And 6s Plus Proves To Be Highly Water Resistant

The iPhone 6s and 6s plus have been made sturdier by machining the new aluminium into a unibody enclosure. Surprisingly, both of the iPhones passes the waterproof test by quite a lot of margin. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus outlasts the hour mark and responds accurately to the tests held at regular intervals. All key components of the iPhones work that includes the 3D touch, Taptic Engine, headphone jack, speakers, camera and more. No issues were seen in the video as both of these phones were dried up and tested. It is quite astonishing to see both iPhone 6s and 6s Plus survive the hour long waterproof test since they are not a subject to any IP certification. You can get a closer look at the test from the video below.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are outstanding smartphones with outstanding price, so do not try this experiment at home if you value money. There are many factors accounted in dunking a smartphone under water so you are responsible for all incurring damages.

Even though the test proves out to be a success, it's highly likely that these iPhones might induce an irregular behavior in the future. However, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have proved themselves to be quite tougher than the previous generation iPhones 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
