Goosebumps: The Game Trailer is Delightfully Retro, Even Somewhat Spooky

Jeff Williams

The Goosebumps universe is getting a new game next Thursday, October 13th. The newest imaginative interpretation of R.L. Stines children's horror novellas will be a point and click adventure game made by WayForward, the studio that brought us Til Mornings Light and Double Dragon Neon.

Get Goosebumps while looking for clues in a Dead House.

Goosebumps: The Game will be the first game from the series in 7 years, and is a prequel to the soon to be released movie, staring Jack Black. Though it's certainly for the younger humans among us, the point and click adventure will have a variety of puzzles that you'll have to solve and mysteries to uncover in the Dead House on your way home from school. Monsters and other spooky creatures of the night will be out to stop your shenanigans, so you'll have to be careful, and smart.

The style they've used is decidedly retro in nature, owing to the classic gaming era from whence the books originated from. This new game could potentially be appealing to many people of all ages who want a small challenge that's likely going to be rife with humor, just as the novellas are.

Goosebumps: The Game will be released on October 13th 2015 on the PS3 and PS4.
