Previously, we reported how Huawei P9 was going to be running a Kirin 950 but it looks like the upcoming smartphone sporting the chipset is going to be Huawei Mate 8 and will easily become the successor of the company’s Mate S. Now, the latest GFXBench show the impressive specifications of the upcoming device. Let us take a look at what we will expect.

Huawei Mate 8 GFXBench Shows Impressive Hardware – Including A Kirin 950 SoC

According to GFXBench, Huawei Mate 8 is going to be running a Kirin 950 SoC. From the leaked benchmarking reports that we had covered earlier, the chipset was supposed to be running the following octa-core processor configuration:

  • Quad-core Cortex-A72 at 2.4GHz
  • Quad-core Cortex-A53 at 2.0GHz
arm-cortex-a72-5-2
arm-cortex-a72-4-2
arm-cortex-a72-3-2
arm-cortex-a72-2-2
arm-cortex-a72-7
arm-cortex-a72-6-2

According to the specifications sheet (image given below), Cortex-A72 are going to be running at a speed of 2.2GHz, so it is quite possible that Cortex-A53 cores are not going to be running at 2.0GHz, but at a much lower speed than we originally expected. Supplementing the performance of the powerful CPU is going to be 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, which is very impressive, coupled with 64GB of internal storage. Huawei Mate 8 is going to sport a massive 6 inch display and luckily for those who covet battery life, the resolution of the upcoming smartphone is going to be 1920 by 1080 pixels.

Thanks to the large screen size, we can definitely expect a large battery capacity. Coming to the camera sensor, Huawei Mate 8 is going to be incorporated with a 16MP rear shooter, but it looks like we are going to have to wait for more details in order to see what camera sensor is present on the device. The smartphone is going to be running Android Marshmallow 6.0 ‘out of the box’, so you will be able to experience the latest software on this mobile computing beast.

Previously, we were also able to report the release date of Kirin 950, which was November 5, so it is possible that in the upcoming days, we might get to see Huawei Mate 8 and its splendid hardware configuration. The price tag (not yet known) might be a tad bit expensive that the other handsets falling into the flagship category, but looking at the hardware specs, we have to say that it is well warranted. Just like Mate S, we expect that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will plant a Force Touch sensor inside its Mate 8, which will function in the same manner as its predecessor.

As for other intricate details of smartphone, looks like you guys will know about price and availability as soon as Huawei Mate 8 makes its entrance to the smartphone market? What do you guys think of the handset so far? Are you impressed with whatever information you have gotten to know about it? Let us know your thoughts.
