The amount of leaks and rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S7 have greatly increased in number over the past couple of days. We've been hearing a large variety of rumors about the upcoming handset(s) and today you can add some more speculation to the mix. When it comes to design, we've seen or heard little about the device so far, apart from the fact that the Galaxy S7 might be coming with Micro SD support this year. Otherwise, the devices have been claimed to change little in design terms and today some renders have surfaced which provide some insight.
Samsung Galaxy S7 And Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Renders Provide Insight Into Device Design
When it comes to the upcoming smartphone launches from Samsung, we've seen leaks and rumors which cover performance related specifications and features. There's quite a lot information available about the Galaxy S7 so far, with the device nearly confirmed to be coming with both the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890 on board. Camera specifications for the device include a 12MP rear camera with a Dual-PD sensor. Resolution wise, we expect things to stay the same, with Samsung also looking to introduce software features that allow users to capture GIFs directly with their device.
On the design side of things, while we shouldn't be expecting Samsung to make any major changes, a minor refinement of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge's design should be expected. Today's renders, courtesy of Evan Blass, end up showing exactly that. As you can see in the image above, both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge seem to follow much more smoother curves and a thinner form factor when compared to their predecessors.
Taking a look at the renders, we see that Samsung's overall interface for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to stay similar to previous devices. The bottom of the devices also appears to be similar in nature, with the placement of the headphone, connector and speaker grille being the same. Overall placement of buttons also appears to be the same, so we're eager to see what performance upgrades Samsung has planned under the hood this time.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to come with 4GB of RAM on board, coupled with the Snapdragon 820 or the Exynos 8890, 3000mAh rear battery capacity and other changes on board which should secure it one of the top places in today's flagship smartphones. The devices are expected to be launched at the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress, due to be held in Barcelona next month.
